At Casa Privada it is difficult to decide which is more magical, sunrise or sunset. I recall vividly one of the first nights after moving in. I was lying on the king bed in the primary bedroom. It was about 9:00 p.m. At my feet was a full moon rising over the mountain ridge. I turned on the headboard LED backlights and took what turned out to be a very interesting photograph. The photo was taken looking from the bed out the glass pocket door. See photo below. The reflection of the bed, me, and the LED lights show in the same image plane as the full moon making for a very confusing image.
I am in love with mornings at Casa Privada. We never close the massive, automatic blinds in the main bedroom suite because it is impossible for anyone to ever see in. Every morning we are awakened by a beautiful sunrise signaling time to go upstairs for a coffee on the patio to enjoy the bird songs and howler monkey greetings. The two guest suites enjoy similar views of the mountains across the valley.
Sunsets are equally captivating. You never know what you are going to get. You can’t resist shooting sunrise and sunset photos day after day. Below, enjoy just a few of the hundreds I have taken.
